The Plumbing Centre, trading as Plumb-it, is a well-regarded, independent plumbing and heating solutions provider. Situated in a high-activity area of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Plumb-it also features an integrated bathroom showroom.
Founded in 2004 by husband-and-wife team Anthony and Linsey McCaffrey, the business offers a comprehensive range of plumbing and heating supplies from prestigious brands, including tools, fittings, controls, boilers, and radiators.
Leanne Boulding, Knightsbridge Operations Manager, led the sale, highlighting Plumb-it’s consistent financial performance, particularly in turnover and gross profit. Within only eight months and following several offers, it was successfully sold.
The business was acquired by R A Baker & Glazier Merchant, located in the neighbouring city of Peterborough. It has operated since 1978 as a repairer, manufacturer and installer of bespoke glass products, including windows and doors.
Since taking over R A Baker in 2019, Gregory Coughlan has expanded his business by purchasing Plumb-it, seemingly as part of a strategy to offer a more comprehensive service. We wish all parties every success for the future!
