M Bissell Display (MBD) is a Cannock-based manufacturer and retailer of display products for the public transport sector. Established in 1983 by Michael Bissell, the business has supplied bus stop flags, poles, timetable cases and a wide range of accessories to public transport providers across the UK.
In 2020, after decades at the helm, Michael entered retirement and appointed Nigel Webb to lead MBD through its next chapter. Having successfully maintained and grown the company since then, Nigel has now decided to retire himself and sought a suitable successor to continue the MBD legacy.
Knightsbridge was engaged to manage the sale, with Associate Director Sara Thomasson leading the process and Regional Commercial Director Donald Peden providing strategic support. Within just eight months of going to market, a deal was agreed for MBD for a substantial sum.
The buyer, Project Fire, is a family-run manufacturer of innovative fire protection solutions based in Hixon. Founded in 1976 by the late Bernard Cain, the business is now led by grandson Luke Cain, who succeeded his father Stuart Cain in overseeing day-to-day operations.
The acquisition unites two long-established, Staffordshire-based businesses with shared values, strong reputations and complementary expertise. Knightsbridge extends its best wishes to Nigel Webb for his retirement and congratulates both parties on a successful transaction.
