Knightsbridge has completed the sale of Liftman (UK), a specialist provider of lift maintenance, repair, modernisation and installation services operating across Cornwall and the surrounding areas. The business serves both residential and commercial clients and has built a strong regional reputation for reliability and technical expertise.
Established in 2000, Liftman has been owned and operated by Jonathan and Carolyn Stokes for more than two decades. The business was brought to market to support their retirement plans, with a clear focus on securing a buyer capable of continuing its high service standards.
The transaction was led superbly by Knightsbridge Associate Director Sara Thomasson, with the expertise of Simon Burns, Regional Commercial Director, overseeing the sale on behalf of Knightsbridge.
Following strong interest, the deal completed within nine months of going live on the market, reflecting sustained demand for well-run engineering and maintenance businesses.
Liftman was acquired by Lift Smart Solutions, a London-based elevator and escalator specialist founded in 2022 by Barrie Simmons and Steve Branch. The acquisition strengthens Lift Smart Solutions’ regional footprint while ensuring continuity for Liftman’s customers across Cornwall.
