Our client, Gillbanks Chemicals, is a manufacturer of a wide range of detergents and cleaning chemicals, supplying customisable products to a variety of businesses, nationwide.
The business is based on the Devon/Cornwall border and was founded in 1990 by Neil Gillbanks. Alastair Campbell took over from Neil in 2023.
Its range of products includes janitorial, hygiene, catering and transport products: everything from dishwash detergent to carpet shampoo, hard surface cleaner to car wash fluid.
In small or large quantities, Gillbanks develops bespoke formulations for its clients, creating products to suit specific needs such as fragrance or colour.
Knightsbridge Deal Executive Peter Taberner led Gillbanks’ sale, explaining: “presenting the company’s history was a key motivator for the buyer to purchase”, adding:
“We met Alastair’s preference of buyer type and got the kind of deal he was looking for”. The buyer: entrepreneur Kuldeep Chauhan.
Based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, Kuldeep runs other businesses and “acquired Gillbanks to add to his established portfolio and to expand on the business”, commented Peter, concluding:
“It was a straightforward deal, and both parties were a delight to deal with, we’re all very happy with the outcome. Job done.”
