Aircon Group has expanded its footprint into the North West with the acquisition of Bolton-based Arctic Refrigeration, in a transaction led by Operations Manager Sara Manville.
Arctic Refrigeration (Bolton) is a well-established provider of refrigeration and air conditioning supply, installation and maintenance services, serving customers across Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Fred and Anna Thompson, it has built a strong local reputation over many years, supported by a loyal customer base.
Having overseen the growth of the business over 48 years, our clients brought Arctic Refrigeration to market to facilitate their retirement plans, while ensuring the company would be well positioned for continued development under new ownership.
Following engagement with interested parties, the business was ultimately acquired by Aircon Group, founded in 1963 and headquartered in Durham.
The group delivers air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration services, and has grown through a combination of organic development and acquisitions, expanding into larger premises and strengthening its presence across the North East.
The addition of Arctic Refrigeration represents a further step in that growth, moving into the North West while strengthening Aircon Group’s refrigeration offering and adding an established operation with strong local coverage.
Following completion, Anna and Fred have stepped away from the business to begin their retirement. The Knightsbridge team wishes them all the best and looks forward to seeing Arctic Refrigeration continue to develop as part of Aircon Group’s expanding operations.
